Il complesso di S. Pietro ad Albe e le collezioni dei conti Antonio e Cesare Pace: una nuova ipotesi sul corpus di frammenti scultorei medievali

Following the collapse of the church of St. Peter in Albe, which occurred on 13 January 1915 due to a powerful earthquake, numerous medieval sculptural fragments were found, now exhibited at the Museo d’Arte Sacra della Marsica di Celano and always connected to the history of the sacred building. The discovery of a photograph published before 1915 and the possibility of reweaving the collecting history of Antonio and Cesare Pace, provided the author with valuable tools to return to a reflection on the sculptural corpus. The article aims to present this documentation, critically framing the materials and retracing, with few additions, the history of the church and convent of St. Peter.
